ABOUT THE COURSE

THERE ARE 3 MODULES IN THIS COURSE:

Module 1: Removable Partial Dentures (RPD)

Module 2: Complete Dentures (CD)

Module 3: Fixed Partial Dentures (FPD)

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

The participant will be able to do the following prosthodontic procedures on course completion:

  • Give removable partial dentures

  • Give complete dentures

  • Give fixed partial dentures

COURSE CONTENT

MODULE 1 – REMOVABLE PARTIAL DENTURES (RPD)

  • Clinical/Case Based Discussions: different types of RPD, which RPD is given in which type of case, designing, taking primary/final impressions: which impression materials to use, recording jaw relation, try in & denture delivery.

  • This is followed by allotment of 1 RPD case to the participant.

 

MODULE 2 – COMPLETE DENTURES (CD)

  • Clinical/Case Based Discussions: Conventional denture: taking primary/final impressions: which impression materials to use, recording jaw relation, try in & denture delivery.

  • Denture Repair, Relining & Rebasing.

  • This is followed by working on 1 CD patient by the participant.

 

MODULE 3 – FIXED PARTIAL DENTURES (FPD)

  • Clinical/Case Based Discussions: procedure to prepare all ceramic & porcelain fused to metal

  • (PFM) crown - for anterior & posterior teeth.

  • Principles of crown preparation: preservation of tooth structure, resistance and retention form, structural durability, marginal integrity. Types of finish lines and types of burs used during crown preparation.

  • Giving temporary crowns (chair side and lab), Crown removal

  • Hands on by participants on typhodonts: Crown preparation

  • This is followed by allotment of 2 FPD patients to the participant.​
